It may not hlpe u much in the PR imporvement, but at least, u can be sent some traffic by those links!

You can only say that after u make sure that all the links are do follow!

Why would you need 100 links from PR6 site anyway ?
It's enought to put just one link on their home page to get people traffic.
If you asking 100 links is better than 1 link, then I'd say 1 link is better than 100 links.
Why?
From what I observed for many years, for google it's more important "HOW" people find you, not "HOW FAST" they find you. I mean if a single "keyword" leads to your site many times, then you probably HAVE THE BEST sites on the internet that can provide such information. Google will place you more often on the 1st search results next time.

If you want a "FAST" traffic, then 1 link on PR6 HOME page is more than enough, if people will find this link interesting they will follow it, otherwise even if you place it on 100000000 pages and noone will follow it, what's the point?

quality and the relevancy are the key issues in Google's eyes.

But we all know a couple of quality backlinks won't help u at all, so I suggest u mix them!

To keep a banlance of both quantity and quality!

The balance of quantity and quality is always the most important and tricky thing in the process of SEO.

100 links from sites with PR6 but the sites were not relavant.

So u make sure the quantity but not the quality. But still it is largely depends on your links.

Generally speaking, a link will do its part, if not as big as a relevant link.
