Can't get my page listed
I'm sure this has been asked many times, but my search of the forums didn't lead to an answer. I've submitted this page for three months with no success:
A Tribute to Juan - Filipino Bodybuilder What's preventing Google from finding it? Thanks, Mark |

Hi Marcnyc
The references to pr are talking about "page rank" which is Google's way to determine how popular a page is by looking at the links pointing to it. The more links (in terms of quality and quantity) the higher the rank. This suggestion is find directories with high ranking pages and submit your site to them. However, be warned, often only the home page has high PR, internal pages often very low. However, after a quick look at your site, that probably will not help much. I would suggest building a blog site, with one photo per post, with a description for each photo putting the picture into context. Other problems: URL - self hosted domain would be better Title - Only mentions Juan - there must be thousands of people called Juan Images - no titles, no alt tags Also, who do you want to find your site? Why? It just looks like a personal web album, poor made with no real guts. It needs a lot more work to be a successful page/site. Webologist Last edited by jonpaul; 03-17-2009 at 03:29 PM. |

Agree with the above post... get the site on a paid hosting with no random/ads pop ups.
Go for a domain with keywords in it what you expect people to search for to find it. Also, tidy up the site make a gallery page for the pictures etc. Should easily be able to get it to the top for specific case related searches by doing these things. Could take anything up to a couple of months for google to pick the site up anyway. |
