Free content for website

Where can we collect royalty free content for our websites on regular basis?

I am setting up a veriety website where I will be publishing almost everything (except porn, gambling etc). creating content is extremely difficult (although my guys will be doing it, but I still would like to see a plethora of material being pushed on to my website everyday).

[I am not sure if my post is relevant for this category, data that I need is for search engine optimization itself, let the mod decide and move the post respectively]

Thanks in advance for your comments.

unique content costs $$ or a reputation in market or something special you have in the information age. (which takes months/years to acheive)

Sandeep, I agree and respect your view, I am already developing in-house capacity to create content on regular basis for our variety website, but alongside I am equally interested in sites that offer free content to webmasters (like http://www.freesticky.com/stickyweb/).

Yeah just try out tons of free article directories. just do a search in google for it. The problem you'll face tho is that thousands of other webmasters have the same idea you have. Good luck

Most government run public information sites allow the full use of their infomation. (At least as far as I know...)br
br
There are some absolutely fabulous information resources out there that
are run by the government. Additionally, Wiki is an excellent resource
as well.br

Although not free, for around $15-$35 you can find a private label content provider with limited distribution.

They provide 200-300 fresh articles per month that you can use straight out the box or re-write and add to them.

I find it easier to rewrite articles already written than trying from scratch. I'll usually add updates, real life examples, and sometimes combine topics to make them unique.

To quickly populate a site a new, I'll grab 50 or so articles and use them as is. This allows you to start seo and link campaigns and maybe some adwords and adsense income until you can add your own original content.

Although you could just read articles from directories and re-write them, You would have to substantially change them to the point that it would pass any copywrite violation test.

Here is an article on private label content:

Here are some of my favorite places for FREE public domain content.

Free article websites are a good way of adding new content to your website, I do this for my travel websites by adding new articles to a blog which makes it quick and easy to update.

It may also be worth using RSS feeds to provideup-to-date fresh content to your site.
