Magic Formula for Article SEO
My SEO consultant urged me to write good articles and submit them to as many article sites as possible. For the past five or six months, I have worked hard to publish five quality articles on twenty sites. Just the other day, my consultant indicated that he did a Google search for my most important keyword and my website showed on page three, but I only got credit for one link from one article. How disappointing! It seems that I am being penalized for multiple articles and/or article sites. He is puzzled by all of this and I cannot get an answer from him on what to do next. Is there a magic formula for article SEO? If not, should I unpublish all of my articles and place the content on my website? It is my understanding that search engines like lots of quality content. I am trying to do things the right way to get to the top page and stay there. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

You are doing the right thing. I would not "unpublish" the articles as sometimes it takes a long time for link tallies to catch up with you. What page were you on before? Did you see a good jump? Then stick with it and definitely add the content to your site. Getting to the top page is what everyone wants!

Keep it up, Your on the right track.
Not all your links will register. And don't hold your breath to see anything indexing in google. Just keep doing what your doing. Find more article posting sites. Make sure they all allow the spyders to crawl the posts. Use targeted keywords in the title, summary, and body of the article. You can find many article outlets right here ( would post some for you but every time i search i get an error, i guess the search is down on this site) One important thing to remember is your average offsite link intake (press releases, links, blogs, posts, articles, etc). If you start falling bellow your average the search engines will notice this drop and decrease the weight of your site. Your better off with a consistent and healthy offsite link flow, rather then sudden bursts of offsite elements every couple months. Also don't forget to update your own site. Add new pages of content and or additions to your blog on a consistent bases. Good luck Agent |

You have just answered many of your own questions without realizing that you were all the time on the right path.
Is there a magic formula for article SEO? - Yes, say something that no one else said before, don't copy-paste articles which were told 100000 times, those articles have their own page rank and it will take you years to push them off the first positions. If not, should I unpublish all of my articles and place the content on my website? - Yes, keep every interesting article in one place and support your visitors with conversations about it, participate in forums/blogs with "live" people and let them know you have something interesting to say. It is my understanding that search engines like lots of quality content. - Yes,but it's only quality content that "people" like, Google is just a machine, which knows what "people" like. When you find a key to "people's" heart, you'll find the key to google. I am trying to do things the right way to get to the top page and stay there. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. - Keep your website simple, interesting, attract visitors and treat them like "human beings" not like "sales statistics", people feel that from hundred yards. Just be yourself, do what you good at, say what you think or what you think people want to talk about. If you do it right, I'll be asking your autograph in few years, seriously.
