penalized by google? what to do?

one of my sites was moved down from first page of google searches to page 30 or worse on 6-7 keywords (all). recently i submitted my site to a lot of web directories using the same anchor text. i believe this could be the problem. what should i do know? just wait? is the penalty permanent or will disappear after a while?

how much time did it pass after you have done submission to all those directories....because google is not going to catch all those backlinks at a time.

and also are those directories fall in a SPAM type websites?..

First you need to vary the anchor text.

Then resubmit it under Webmasters Tools under "Submit for reconsideration" for them to review it again.

It is usually has a wide range from 2 weeks to 6 months after they have received your re-inclusion request.

But I think you may just need to do more seo work. Because if there are search results for your site, this means you are not penalized but google.

From your description, I don't believe you are getting a penalty.

You just need to do more seo job. Directory Submissions don't work as great as it used to. You just need to have some quality links.
