Anyone can tell me how can i add my webiste in google and yahoo in top rankings.

Its Not adding your site.
first you have to submit your site to these SE's
Then you have to optimize your site and get a Better Page Rank.
When you have Good Page Rank you are on TOP.
Also Keywords show a lot of effect.

Well Prem first of all you should have patience to get your site on top.
Just read the steps given here -
8 Steps for successfull SEO
You will know what you have do for getting your site on top.

And after you have done with those steps, just follow and checkup how your site is behaving using the FREE tools at - seotools.kreationstudio.com

Isn't that simple enough to get your site on top of search engine results.

as we keep on building links,br
especially if we get links from high page rank sites,br
that will ensure that our site will be listed by google.br

That method doesn't always work, and takes a long time.
It's better to get some good backlinks and to have Google crawl to your site.

Well , you are right .Actually the poster's question content two topic .One is get listed in Google and Yahoo and another one is top ranking .These two things are totally different .

To get indexed ,the fastest way is get one back link from a web site Google bot visits all the time (sometimes the simple way is submit your web site to [url=http://www.webdirectory-submit.com]web directories ) .

To get in top ranking ,that depends on what is the keyword you want to compete with and the content about your web site .
