Overall: not bad. How ever you don't seem to be aware that copying (with or without derivation) pictures from games, films, other pictures etcetera is against international copyright laws if you don't have permission from the copyright holder (usually author), if the original work is licensed then you may not need to ask permission (you should refer to licenses if available). I believe that fair use probably comes in here (but I'm not quite sure because UK fair use is bordering on non-existent ) however in your context I doubt you could use it as a legal defence.
So stick to your own original work and don't copy anything without permission. DISCLAIMER: I'm not a lawyer, solicitor, attorney or anything like that, however from the aspects of copyright law that I've needed to read, for various reasons, I give this advice. |

If the images haven't been modified then attribution could possibly make it better, but then you couldn't use negligence as an excuse if you were sued.
What you have to think about though is: will the copyright holders care? will they care if you start to make a profit? is there likely to be anyone who's paid the copyright holder for a license so they can use it (if they have then you not paying looks bad and someone might care)? So if you like then attribute the copyright owner but to be truly safe go for your own original material. So much on the internet like this unknowingly violates copyright laws, so the most important thing to consider is : will anyone care?. DISCLAIMER: I'm not a lawyer, I'm not qualified to give legal advice and will not be held liable for any damages arising from my advice. |
