Overall, what can be seen of the forums looks pretty good. The Portal page could use a little work on design, though. It's rather plain-looking, and doesn't really fit with the forum design.
It might also help to define your focus a little bit more. Keep the variety, but maybe pick a few areas to emphasize, in order to get people's interest (whether it's business, social, entertainment, cultural, etc.). For your current number of active members, your forum subjects seem to be somewhat randomly selected and organized. You might consider making them a little leaner, and broadening the subjects gradually, to meet the needs of your members. It's like your signature. It can be a very powerful tool, but packing too much into it really just blunts the message. Seeing it gives me no real idea of what to expect to see, therefore I don't really feel compelled to go and look. Something shorter, to the point, and with maybe a hook, like mentioning your free hosting contest, would be more effective in getting attention, in my opinion, than a laundry-list of subjects. You want to make a punchy impact. Messages that are too long and wandering are just tuned-out by the public. The same on your forum pages. Who are you? What's the forum about? Even if it's just a short note of welcome, people should have some sense of this when they land on the page. There are a lot of forums these days that come and go. Establishing an identity is crucial to long-term success. If you had a motto, what would it be? When people leave your pages, what is it about them that they will remember, to make them want to come back? Anyway, those are a few thoughts. I hope that I've not sounded too critical. Just trying to be constructive. |

If you really want to make this site better I would work on your portal design a bit.
The colour scheme is pretty harsh on the eyes. Why not follow the same colour scheme that your forums use? The search bar is redundant so I would remove that as well. YOu might want to add some padding the centre section as well so that it doesn't 'hit' the black bordering you have |
