Hmmm.... I'd looked at the site, before. Didn't you used to have more games?
The forum looks good, if you can dig up a few members (yes, it's fine to solict them in this thread).

And while the place looks pretty functional, it's also pretty sparse. I guess you have to expect that of a 'work in progress'. It'll fill out when you get some more content, like game reviews, going.
But it's not very pretty, is it? The chunks of black and white text pasted on a coloured background sort of look like a tasteful ransom note.
Maybe a little work on the look of the graphics is in order.

But it looks like you have a good framework there, on which to build a successful site. Good luck to you.

Why are the ads on the right hand side hiding behind the content? They go underneath it.

I'm not sure what Andrew is seeing. Or if what I'm seeing is 'correct' either.br(I have to turn off a lot of blocking software, just to see the ads.)brFor me (in Firefox), they're displaying as a long thin line in the top middle of the page.brNot something I'd like to have to scroll past to get to content (and I'd be more likely to do that immediately, whereas I'd notice an ad span style="font-style: italic;"beside/span something that I was reading).brOn the pages where you have to scroll past ads to see 'no content yet, go look at the forum', it's a bit of a kick in the pants.brbrOverall, it's a matter of style, as much as colour. I usually like to see text as an image in a nice 'module'. Then you can have a nice font, maybe a border around it, or some kind of defined space. But however you do it, don't have elements and ads bunched up or crowded against each other. Any colours will do, really, as long as they are complimentary enough to look good together, and show enough contrast where its needed. Generally, background colours should tend towards muted, neutral tones that will fade into the background and not clash with anything (including ads).brThe site as a whole also needs to be unified a bit more: the placement of links for the forum and blog seem arbitrary, and feel like you've wandered someplace altogether different with no way back.brbrAs far as colours and styles go, I think the forums are a strong point. I'd pick up from 'the look' there, and work backwards trying to make the various pages look like they belong together.brbrI think a good logo in the main page would help, too. The plain heading, and 'plain white paper' behind standard-font text tend to make it look like the style of a church bulletin for a smallish congregation.brI'd lie to see something with a little 'punch' to make visitors know they've arrived somewhere.brbrAnd span style="font-style: italic;"especially/span, if you are going to have those bloody animated banner ads. Your own, plain graphic elements are going to look like the oldest hooker in Vegas by comparison.br

I disabled AdBlock and I got a page with adverts in the left, content and then half an advert block with the content block sitting on top.
It may be something to do with my dodgy screen resolution, but I'm no sure...I'm using Firefox 1.5 with 42 enabled extensions at last count.

I had a fiddle with your source code, and came up with a version that works in both Mozilla and IE. If you're interested, drop me a PM.
