How to delete a friend

Sometime back .. one person just requested me to add him as a friend. so I accepted .. But now although I can see him in the friends list .. but unfortunately I want delete his name .. it is not appearing for deletion ..

please help me .. because I am getting 100's of messages from his friends of friends ..

well just see it in your friends list for the deletion of your friend!!!
