Orkut is Rubbish

Normally I love most things associated with Google but Orkut is simply junk.

I've noticed a lot of Brazilians have built up some great communities on it.brbrBut the system and it's design is arwful.

There is no real community feel to it, no useful features, it really is a bad system

Yhaoo Groups is far better, maybe even MSN groups, even though both are littered with adverts everywhere.

I hope Google are going to put some of their fortune in developing something a lot better.

I Don't Agree with you DiamondLondon. Orkut is one of the Best Community Portals live. Keep it up Google you are doing a great job. Don't bother these peoples.

And now DiamondLondon, See I don't know why you feel like this. As far as I know this system is made for the people and they are loving it. I myself have found all my school friends on orkut. Orkut has a huge database and popularity too. You must use it for atleats a month and see. Thousands of people are enjoying it and I don't know why don't U.

If you start a poll session between all your stated portals and orkut. I am sure Orkut will win try it.

Guys please don't get off the topic as it won't help anyone here.

Well DL different people have different perspectives so may be you don't like Orkut but that's your view point and I'm sure there may be some more who would think in the same manner. Well Google can take this as creative criticism and may be improve something on it.
As far as Yahoo is concerned in social networking sites they are ahead of Google as they entered in this arena long back and have also pioneered in it. I think one of the most notable social networking site from the Yahoo family is http://del.icio.us/ which is very good in its respective aspects i suppose.

I'm not particular crazy about Orkut either. It has potental (as far as I am concerned), but it just has too much empty communities and little real activity. But atleast one thing has improved, I don't get the donuts all the time anymore

i do agree with you anirudh but to be frank people are simply spoiling the community,no can deny that,it is the people,their uselss communities and also those people are hurting the religious sentiments of people,there have been many such cases in the past and so it was also on the verge of being banned twice,as such i too feel its useless.

Like i get many scraps a day coz i have lotta friends and i keep in touch wid them.
