Help in accessing Orkut in Dubai....

Hi All,

This is my first post here, so I am real excited... ...I searched thru the past archives, and after notfinding a suitable answer, have posted this threadhere,....

I stay in Dubai, UAE...I am unable to access ORKUT( http://www.orkut.com), which was my favourite way ofkeepingin touch with all my friendswhile I wasin Bangalore, India... I now have lots of pplI want to talk to,but no access watsoever... Its real frustrating....

I heardfrom some1 that there was a workaround, a way to access Orkut in places where the Site was blocked by the ISP. Justwanted to know if some1 could point me to it, and ways to log in to my fav site once again ...

You need to find a proxy server to get around the block.
Many people in the forum use them to access sites that have been
banned by their government (or sometimes, just by their employer ).

Anyway, you can search, or try a place with a huge list, like http://proxy.org/.
You should be able to find a workable solution without too much trouble.

THanks for the initial tip... Sadly though, I find that ALL the Sites with kwywords like "proxy" in them are also Blocked !!! ( Now,I am in a mess, as I dunno wat next to do...


While Googleing around for this, Ifound in the Internet,that there was a similar problem faced by Orkut Users in Iran sometime back, and there was a proxy server to help them overcome it... Isn't there a similar solution for troubled folks here in the UAE!!! ????

I guess, we can hope that someone that is actually in the situation will post.
I'm sure there must be a solution.

You should keep an eye on the Gmail forum as well, as there are people in similar
situations accessing that, that have found solutions.
Sorry I can't be of more assistance.
