Orkut password recovery problems

Hi Folks,

I recently got an email from Google saying I need to connect my Gmail account to my Orkut account. It confirmed that my username is Bspin and by sending the email to that address (hotmail addy), that my username is associated with it. After I follow the link for forgotten passwords off the main Orkut page, I enter my hotmail addy in the field, but it just bounces me back to the main Orkut page. If I enter a different email address, it correctly tells me that the different addy is not associated with an Orkut user. I've emailed Gmail about it long ago, but never got any replies (which is why I stopped using Orkut). It does not send emails to my hotmail addy about passwords, in junk folders or otherwise, but as I said, I do receive periodic emails from Orkut. I am using a NAT, but, I'm not sure how that could be an issue.

Hi,

I have the near-same problem - later realised that the email was in response to a previous orkut profile i had created nearly 2 yrs ago, but never used it. I used a second person's invitation and created a new profile some months ago (forgot about the old invite and registration) and used the account actively. I responded to the Google message and acted accordingly, but later realised that now i am being linked to the old profile, and i cannot access my active profile. The active profile still exists - i am getting scraps and friend requests there. What do i do??? please help!!! You said you had emailed google - what ID did you email to?
