Orkut's popularity ?

Does anyone know how many active users currently use Orkut .. compared to other services such as friendster ?
and what are orkut's advantages over those services ?

About the features.. i don't really know ..
but i'm sure friendster has much more members then orkut ..
and in addition to that alot of money was invested in f riendster..

i am member of orkut but not friendster. i am also member of ryze. compared to orkut which i find is too demanding to enter ryze is easy.

hey, i have become junior googler by 25 posts. how many more to be done before i become a googler.

Well, I'm not sure if anyone knows the number of members in orkut, due to its invitation-only-ness.Don't ask about that word, I made it up.

Probably there is an Orkut page telling the number of members. I've read the following in the Internet

19-Apr-04: 218,291
19-Jun-04: 487,519
28-Jul-04: 1,000,000

I finally got a orkut invite... so now i am checking it out. Seems to be pretty cool so far. Just alot of questions that they ask you after you sign up. Hmm taking me forever. And Orkut does seem alittle slow for being a Google website. Well i will keep you all posted on my experiences of Orkut.
