People are not active at orkut for serious issues

Well, since last many days I have been grazing through the pages of orkut, there are friends-n-friends everywhere, a lot of topics (almost every topic I was interested in), but not much is happening there, people are not actively responding to the posts.

In particular I was interested in networking with Entrepreneurs, Startup Companies, Angel Investors, Venture Capitalists, Software Exporters, Software Importers etc. and there are topics for each of them but with almost zero activity. I am not sure what might be happening under other topics.

I hope some day orkut may be able to achieve its desired goal.

Anyone here with his/her experience of orkut?

[Orkut still is a good place, one should give it a try]

I feel the same way Orkut just is not the same anymore you were one of the last persons I invited to orkut for this exact reason.

I'll invite again later maybe!

Darrenstraight,

I had a whole list of people to invite, but I stopped myself doing so once I had a first hand experience of the same. There are no replies at all to my queries, infact there are forums where people haven't posted anything since months.

In this regard, GC is much better, we cannot make friends here but can atleast communicate with like minded people (and GC guys make real $$$ :P ).

What could be the reason behing orkut's so called sudden failure?

You say we can not make friends here, I believe that is not totally true because I have a lot of friends here that I really would like too meet soon and I think all of them would like too meet me as well.

The sudden failure of orkut is due to the massive amount of Brazilians joining, hehe just kidding, it’s actually due to other facts.

I'm not really interested in Orkut. GoogleCommunity.com is the place for me

Where everyone has their page which can network with friends.. oh like Wallop and Myspace.. hehe

Love the GC$.. but.. hasn't come into use for me yet.. been saving up for that domain name.. but none in stock and im still far away from it's cost.

Orkut has turned into a dating service rather than a place for friends to meet. My community has a few people who joined just because I invited them to. There is no activity at all. I havent logged for a long time now.

GC Rocks !!!!!

So I am not missing anything by not being in Orkut?

So far, I have truly loved reading the posts on this board.

I was perhaps expecting a bit more from Orkut.

Is there any other similar place where one can do business networking and people there are more serious?
