Most of the forums on Orkut are pretty much dead. No one ever posts and it is amusing that you have to get invited there in the first place. If you are curious about it I would recommend asking someone you know to invite you but most likely you'll be disappointed once you're there. It is just a huge amount of crappy message boards.

Eh, I'd like to have it just for the sake of having it. I bought an invitation from the shop, but nothing seems to be happening. How do I get my Orkut invitation?

Hmm I just bought an Orkut invitation just for fun. How do you invite other people to orkut. Is it like GMail where theres those invitations which popup at the bottom of the screen? Or is it like infinite invites.

Short answer, infinite invites, add someone as your friend to send them one.

Orkut might be worth your time if your friends or family is on Orkut... It is more like Friendster but Friendster has way more members... If orkut makes sign ups instead of invitations than it would have way more members... People should start spreading the word about Orkut... If someone has time it would be great if you can make a comparison chart or something so people can see the difference between Orkut and Friendster than would be a really big help fore me and people who are wondering which one is better.... I am a member of friendster and there are alot of people there that are interested in being friends so... Friendster is my top choice right now but Orkut would be my 2nd.... Orkut is great and has alot of features it is well worth your time if you are wanting to make friends with people and I am wanting to make more friends so... that is a great community just like Friendster... So... check it out if you want too... ask someone for an Invitation because i'm not giving any out right now... Thank You...

Why is orkut invitation only? is the service very resourceful and can only handle a certain quota? i understand why google is invite only, because they want to see how many users than can handle with 1000mb accounts. orkut, however, doesn't seem to need that much resources. it should not be private and invite only.

I'm not an Orkut member, but I'm under the impression that the whole concept of the service is that it's invitation only. That is, its purpose is to have everybody linked to everybody else in some kind of... well... web.

Am I on the right track?
