I am new here~ just wannr know why so many ppl so crazy for Orkut???? Does it got anything more than a online community??????????

i think so many want an invitation to orkut because it is a google service. google became a gigantic name like microsoft. a gmail or orkut accounts are some kind of status symbols.

In ComputerActive magazine, referring to Orkut it says "If you're in, you must be cool".

Actually orkut became such a big craze because most people who want to join think that by being in will easily get them a gmail invite. Just go look on ebay for instance. There are Orkut invites being sold with titles like "Invitation to Orkut, your key to gmail". Even though I'm not in Orkut I think that you probably still won't have much luck at finding a gmail invite.

Gee, I didn't know that Gmail invites were that much of a craze. I think it's just the branded mail service that people are looking for. As said above, people equate Gmail with cool. I don't think Gmail invites are really that special. It is now passed around quite frequently. For example, I got it from people at MacAddict. Many people I know have one already.
