Obviously it will be Scotland who will win. I believe in the last World Cup they were disallowed to participate because of their supreme skills, and it would be unfair on the other teams if Scotland took part.
Darn! It seems that they've been disallowed to participate this time too!
I think Brazil might win. They seem to do that a lot.

I suppose Brazil's going to win. Or any other "big" team, like Germany, England, etc. But if I had to, I'd bet my money on Brazil (not that I'm actually going to bet).

Sven's gone mad!

Can't believe Darren Bent didn't get in the England squad. Theo Walcott's never played at Premiership level, and probably still has a bedtime for Christ's sake!
I feel really sorry for Darren as he's worked his socks off all season. There's nothing else he could have done.
I'm can't wait for Steve McClaren to come in and end this rule that 'If you don't play for the Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool or Man United, your not in!'
Numerous players have moved to the so called bigger clubs to try and gaurantee their place in the England squad and ruined their careers as a result:
[b]Shaun Wright Phillips/[b] would probably be in the England squad had he not moved to Chelsea.
[b]Alan Smith/[b] moved to Man United after Leeds were relegated, and the footballing world has almost forgotten about him in the 2 years he's been there.
[b]Scott Parker/[b] (sigh). Where do i begin. At Charlton gets in the England Squad. Moves to Chelsea. Can't get in Chelsea squad. As a result, can't get in the England squad, so moves to Souey's sinking ship (Newcastle United) where he spends the first few months of the season wonderingwhether he's going to be playing Hull next season...

My advice to Darren Bent would be to stay at Charlton where he's gauranteed first team appearances and just hammering the goals in. McClaren will judge players on there abilities not what club they play for.
Defoe seems to be out of the frame at Tottenham so should perhaps consider moving. Same applies to SWP.

i am also shocked at the England team selecetion !!

Walcott has never played in the Premiership before and Sven has never seen him play - yet he is going because Sven has a 'good felling about him' hmmmmmm...

Jermain Jenas is pants and should be swapped with Shaun Wright Phillips.

I think Defoe should also be there as he is very good, he may be out of the frame at spurs but Wallcott is only 17 and VERY inexperienced. But you never know - he may shine during the competition.

I read in the news today that Walcott found out he was in the team after his driving theory test when a friend phoned him.

I would just like to point out that i am NOT an English fan.

And i think Defoe should be in the team

Defoe should have been on the team. Owen and Rooney were both rushed, and Walcott never used...

hi

The World Cup may be over but not the rivalry among the best players in the world. As far as leagues, cups and tournaments are concerned winning is still the most important item on the menu. Some teams like England and Germany have their national teams intact for the qualifiers for the next Euro championships, which for some teams are as important and prestigious as the World Cup. The rest of the world are also trying to boost their ranking points in the hope of making it to the next World Cup.
