I don't like olympic style shooting, I do agree with you. I don't do shooting as a sport but I have an uncle who does and I have been watching him since I was little. Interesting, just not my thing I guess.

Well, I love sport shooting.
I agree with your opinion about the olympic pistols. This also applies to the oylmpic rifles. I have shot with both and I can say that it is harder to miss with these then hit. I think that Olympic shooters should use normal rifles and pistols. It is good that clay target shooter just use ordinary shotguns. THAT is real skill.

To me, the true champion is not the Olympic Rifle shooter, its the elderly man down at the gun club with his Lee-Enfield .303.

I have been to (and won) many competitions. I was even lucky enough to shoot an M1 Garand and a Colt AR-15 during a military service discipline shoot.

I love shooting because it is a different and challenging sport, which requires the upmost patience, quick thinking and lightning fast reflexes.

I don't know of shooting as a sport because it doesn't really take athletic ability. But I shoot clay pigeons all the time and I've gone to a couple rifle tournaments when i was younger. Quite fun, and olympic style shooting rather gay....
