Google & Firefox oddness
Hi folks, newbie here.brbrJust wondered if anyone had encountered this problem.brbrWhenever I do a search using google/firefox(1.5.0.6) or even google/IE combination without placing a + between each word,,I'm only presented with 1 page of results, with a coloured G1 at the bottom of the page.brbrThe number of results shown will depend on the number selected via google options,be it 10,50,or 100,but it's always only the one page.brbrIf I do the exact same search using a + between each & every word, the results are presented as 'normal',ie Google 1234567......etc.brbrThis peculiarity only ever occurs with google, and all other search engines perform exactly as expected, showing several,or many pages of results without having to use the + sign between words or terms.brbrI've tried clearing internet cache, both for FF & IE,and also uninstalled FF(including deleting folders) & reinstalled, but the problem remains, whether I have any extensions, including the google toolbar, installed/enabled or not.brbrObviously this isn't a life-threatening situation, but it's very annoying, nonetheless,so any help would be greatly appreciated...assuming of course this is the right place to ask.br

Well, it's as good a place as any to ask, but that's the first time I've heard of anything like this.
Nobody else has reported it, and I've certainly never seen it myself. I could hazard a guess that Google is experimenting with 'new features', as they are prone to roll out or test without announcement from time to time. But that's just a guess. Perhaps someone will come along that's experienced the same oddity. |

Thanks for your quick response mondine.
I still tend to use google primarily, despite the aforementioned glitch. Strangely enough, when I installed & used the(new???)search sidebar extension on FF last night, the problem didn't occur,BUT it only ever returns 10 results, and they're all from google, despite telling it to use all search engines installed,so that one's now been quickly kicked into touch. Funny you should mention it hasn't been previously reported,I'm not surprised,as I'm also the only bloke I know whose pc runs 5x slower in every respect when it's been defragged, strange but true...hehehehe |
