Internet Explorer

i have just installed a router with a built in ADSL modem which is now connected 24/7. When i installed the drivers for the router it set up what to connect to during the installation. i am able to access the internet when i use firefox but my dad is being annoying and wants to use IE. The problem is when he opens IE it asks him to "connect" or "work offline." if he clicks "work offline" then he cant visit any websites but if he clicks connect it asks for a modem to dial up with, but because the modem is not in the list available. Can anyone suggest a way for him to open IE without that message coming up asking him to connect, and so he can visit websites???

did you configure IE with your LAN settings?
Goto options in IE, then select the 'connections' tab and at the bottom click lan settings...configure it...note: I may have gotten some names wrong...
