Firefox Preloader

If you use Firefox on an older PC, this little program will help it to load more quickly for you.
Give it a try and tell us your results.

The servers are getting hammered by this one.

It's supposed to start (preload) Firefox in the back ground, so that when you actually decide to start your browser it loads more quickly for you. Have a look this guy is the creator and he goes into much more detail about it. I downloaded the file to peek into the sub folders, but there really isn't much good information with the release, at least I didn't think there was . This program has been out for a couple of years now and this is the latest release.(build 366, final) I did find this though:

It is recommended that you NOT use the "File->Exit" command to close Firefox or it's windows unless you are installing new extensions or themes. This will unload Firefox and defeat the purpose of this program. Firefox can be closed via 'File->Close' or the X button on the windows' title bar

• The Preloader doesn't insure that the firefox.exe file it is using is the real one. This may be fixed in a later version by check the exe against a list of checksums of known released versions.

1. Fix any remaining bugs... (this should always be a first in any software)
2. Clean up the code some as much as possible
The Source is a part of the release files contained in the download.

I'm happy with it how it loads for me as well, from a 'cold start' it has a slight delay on my machine. Intelliot, what CPU are you running? Let me guess, Pentium 4 3.0 w/ hyperthreading and a gig of matched Corsair Ram (DDR PC 3200), am I close?

thanks for the info! however i feel that it will be an application overload as i am happy with the present state of affairs.

BTW, does any one close the browser going through the file menu instead of using the icon at the top?

I have never closed my browser via the file menu intentionally, maybe once or twice by accident though. I've done everything it seems by mistake a time or two. I'm too curious for my own good. I learn a lot from clicking and making errors though.
