Tracking urls with query strings
Hi,
Is it possible to track links from external adverts using something similar to the folowing? EG: www.mydomain.com/default.aspx?ad=avert1 Would I see the full url within the Direct Traffic area or will it be cut off and just show default.aspx? Cheers, R |

Yes it is possible with little knowledge of script. You need to place onClick event in the anchor link which you need to track. for example your page url is http://www.xyz.com and there is one link of contact that refers to http://www.xyz.com/contactus.php and you want to track no of visitors clicks on contact link of home page then you need to edit code as per below.
Click here to <a href="http://www.xyz.com/contactus.php" onClick="somefunction()">contact us</a> and in function you need to divert visitor to url that you have created for tracking the link http://www.xyz.com/contactus.php?utm...um=LinkClicked Last edited by kpatelseo; 10-28-2007 at 11:07 PM. |
