what could be the reason behind slow downloading of a site?

hi everyone!!!
till now, our office has developed multiple static and dynamic sites. our office has also been providing domain registering and web hosting services. but a site of ours[www.matnepal.com] is taking far more time than other sites to get downloaded. first the picture is downloaded and then only the rest of the contents get downloaded. and it is not much different from all the other sites. and on top of that, it is a static site. so, i am wondering what might be the reason behind. and yeah, the only diff thing is that the site's domain name is registered else where. otherwise, the hosting place is same. and the amount of javascript and all are also same as the other side. so, anyone, any idea?

Hi Tenzin,

See attached screen shot made with firebug extension.
It took 8.79s to load 130 KB image. Try reducing image quality or correct colors, it will help loading faster.
Also, look at very bottom line: 29 requests - 413Kb - 16.5s

the site's layout. if the site is heavy in image, the tendency is slow loading.

1-Slow server
2- Bad or unmanaged script
3- Amount of images in the website
4- Resolution of images
5- Number of visitors at the same moment
