Exclude IP address filter question

Hello All,

I am using Google analytics for my web site and want to set up a
filter to exclude hits from my computer. The filter asks for the IP
address to exclude. When I run ipconfig on my computer I get one IP
address (along with "Subnet Mask" and "Default Gateway" IP addresses)
but when I visit a site like whatismyipaddress.com, it tells that
my IP is something else.

So which is the right one to enter into the filter to exclude my own
visits to my web site from showing up in the analytics reports? Any
help would be much appreciated.

Cheers, Scott

follow below steps:
1. check IP from whatismyipaddress.com & write down on a paper.
2. restart the computer, and repeat the step 1.
3. If both the IP are same, then use that IP.
4. If both the IP are different, then you are getting dynamic IP from your ISP. In such case you need to use wildcard character *.

For example: you are getting IP from step1 & 2 are 125.100.30.5 & 125.100.35.91 then you can place 125.100.*.* in Google analytics filter.

You can use wildcard like * in your IP filter option.
for example: whatismyipaddress.com is giving your IP 125.130.15.45 and after restarting the computer it gives 125.130.56.80 then in filter you can use 125.130.*.*
