Never install Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1

Wow, I spent an hour trying to uninstall it!

I get it and I hate it, no pages that I go to are supported under the thing (which I understand and can handle because it's in beta). the only thing that really made me was when I tried to uninstall it!

I installed it on a PC @ school to show some friends under a user (we'll say root). this was about 3 months ago and since then, the user root was renamed.

so when i try to uninstall it I get a "cannonot uninstall, you have to uninstall under the same user you installed this program with" or something like that.

Enough complaining, if you have this problem, do this to get rid of the bad bad IE.

If you can't see IE under Add/Remove Programs, just click the box beside Show Updates to reveal it's evil face.

If you are having the same problem i was then...

the uninstall folder is in the windows folder, $NtUninstallie7beta1$\spuninst
of course the folder is hidden, but if you run the uninstaller you see there, it says you must uninstall it from the user account that you installed IE7 under. of course I only use my own account, so you have to go into spuninst.inf and delete the line after Prerequisite. now run the uninstaller and voila, even the more pesky IE7 Beta1 uninstall problems are solved.

I'm guessing you’re not an official beta tester!

Well I've been using IE 7 for months now and the only troubles I have his when visiting some very secure websites but other than that it's fine!

I personally think it's great but that's just me and my opinion.

IE, when it comes to speed, and acceptance... IE is the best, but as with any 'God' it has a week-ness, It is so un-secure, thats how 90% of the Spyware works through peoples Computers... IE! If it waz more secure.. and fast... bang... we have perfection... Peace

so....

i'm having trouble understanding that last post...

"if IE were faster and more secure it'd be perfect".

aren't those two kinda essential? or is it just me?
