Analytics per page not website
I am creating a website where authors can create custom articles. I want to be able to track each article. The CMS I am using (Drupal) does not allow for this, well, in a very basic way.
I want each author to be able to see who visited their articles, without having access to all statistical information. My plan: Create a custom Google Analytics report for each author. Each user will have their own tracking code that will automatically be inserted into their pages, thus, updating only their reports. The only challenge is that I don't want my authors to have to have a Google account to access their Google reports. So my plan is to create a dummy Google Account that will have permission to the domain I am working on. Its credentials will be used by my server for anonymous access. So when Joe #1 wants to access his report, the website will use dummy credentials to access the report specifically tied to Joe #1. OK, so my question is: What do you think of this approach? Is there a better way of doing this? Thank you |
