Google Analytics (My Review)

Although I was surprised that they were no longer accepting nebbie's (probably because of the rush to implement the technology) I have to say that Google Analytics is one of the best...site counters that I have discovered.

Although most site/stat counters will tell you the basics, such as who came to your site, who was forwarded to your site, etc., Google goes even further by breaking down which key word searches in Google, Yahoo, etc. are drawing traffic towards your site.

It also lets you know from what networks people are coming from, which states (in the US) and countries, as well as charting your daily growth (or decline) from several different angles.

The only bad part about it is that their image chart/graph is not displaying, but besides that it has become quite useful.

Hopefully they will open it up to the rest of the world soon...it seems that Google has invaded the world of web stats.

usage of this data

Definitely it's one of the best traffic analysis services, it was
acommercial service ($200 per month) provided by Urchin before
googlebought them. brThe
only trick here is what do they do with your website logs? I meanthey
giving for "free" a really outstanding tool, that is not even
adsupported, so there must be a trick...br

There's no trick. They're just continuing their mission, to collect all the information in the world. They're getting enough money from shares and adwords.. (they only give away 78,5% to AdSense publisher), so I'm sure they don't have cash problems.. Don't worry, wolfgang, Google won't crash because of Analytics, so feel free to sign-up for an account I've just received my invitation code 2 days ago. haha, googlenalaytics r0xx0rz :^)

My experience with google analytics was great, and geographical location is a really good catch.

As has been mentioned often in this forum, there is no invitation system like some other Google services.
You sign up, and wait for them to 'invite' you.

I still prefer statcounter
Their stats are instantaneuos - there is no delay of 24 hrs like analytics
Also they provide detailed paths of last 100 visitors.
Otherwise, analytics are not bad.
