It says google Analytics is free but there must be a catch.... i mean google has to get its cost from somewhere

Gmail is free, Google Search is Free, Google Reader is free. Is there some catch with those services?

ya but other services like gmail, google search, google reader etc.. can cover costs by targeted advertising (adsense) whereas google analytics doesnt have ads atleast i dont think it does... thats wat i meant by the catch... that they must be using the analytic data to their advantage

It could be these services are free so you could use the google search engine.

Google Analytics user needs ? Na, what ? An Google Account and if you have an Google Account, they think you'll use the other services aswell, if you have already one... So, I think this is their Idea, but I don't know of course...
