Static URL?

Okay, I'm a bit confused about this new google answers layout, so I hope I'm posting to the right place...brbrI just got a subdomain and I want to put my portfolio up. I would ideally like it if i could have the links to each piece on the right, the piece show up on the left, and for it to look consistent with each click. I can do that okay, but I would also like it if the URL didn't change with each piece. They have long titles and the html end up pretty lame. so the visitor would go to subdomain.domain.net/myportfolio/ and this would be the URL that stayed at the top of the page the whole time. I know this is doable, but all of my searches online imply that either i have to do this or I'm a bad webdesigner or that if I do this i'm a creepy web designer. and they all mention apache or php or redirecting but none of them seem to give very good step by step instructions on how to set this up. Plus most sites talk about how to "go from dynamic to static" but I don't want to convert anything, I want to launch the page this way.brbrcan someone please help?brbrthanksbrbrtbr

Okay; this "Google Answers" forum is for discussion of the Google service by that name.
So, let's try moving your question down to the Web Design, Coding & Programming forum.

Wouldn't html frames work for this?

The actual urls of what you are displaying would change, but the url the user sees at the top of the screen would remain the same.

Yes, that would work. However, I think the poster was looking for an in depth description of how to do it. For example, the HTML frame code.
