A similar debate arises between <i> and <em>.
They're essentially the same. <b> and <i> can be restyled in your CSS stylesheet. Realistically, <strong> and <em> are supposed to be more semantic, but you can also argue that <b> and <i> make more sense. AFAIK, search engines do not view them differently. |
