Thumbs up How do you track your website visitors?

I want to know is there anything you do to track your website visitors.
Do you place some programming script on your web to work on that?

I'm wonderng because I have a few place where I submitted my website link, I am sure that that you submitted to a lot of place on the web. So how you define that it is resulting traffic to your web?

Like selfie, I was using also statcounter.com ... Accurate real-time website statistics with detailed visitor tracking and analysis. Its free and very use to use, all you have to do is sign up, fill up the needed information, so can have your access with it anytime you want to monitor your traffic. After signing up you will be receiving code, to be paticular a java script, then put it in your site. Insert that code in all pages of your site so you can fully monitor your traffic.

Goodluck!

I prefer statcounter. Even though some say that it installs adware/cookies i love its features. The other alternative is Google Analytics.

Awstats is great and already on most Apache servers especially if they use cPanel. I like to use it coupled with a client side program such as Google Analytics or Hitslink. Google Analytics provides all the necessary info, but it's a bit clunky to use, in my opinion, but it's free so that is a benefit. If you have the budget to upgrade to Hitslink (small monthly fee), I recommend it. (It has a 30-day free trial so you could compare side-by-side for no cost). It has better custom reports and can export to PDF, CSV, or whatever, and they can be automatically emailed to you. Here are the links for Google Analytics and Hitslink.

OK, you sound like you need some help. Go to Google Analytics and register. Follow their directions. They will give you a script to copy. You will need to paste the script inside the html script at the location they specify on each page of your site or at least on the main page and other pages that attract visitors.

If you don't know how to access your script, go to the file management section of your host account and click to edit the html of each page.
