Smile Is Technical knowledge is necessary for SEO and SEM?

Hi, recently I have come across a post where it has been said that Technical knowledge is necessary for SEO and SEM. So Far is it true? I am an aspiring SEO and is only familiar with HTML basics..thats all! Do I have to learn technical stuffs? if Yes, then on WHAT? Is web designing necessary?

Having technical knowledge in SEO/SEM field is very important. It's good that you are very well aware with HTML basics but its not sufficient. Besides the SEO/SEM technical terms one should also know how to apply these techniques in SEO/SEM field.

And about knowing the web desining, it's not necessary to know. B'coz it hasn't any role in SEO/SEM field.

By technical knowledge, if you mean knowledge of HTML, programming, site accessibility and copywriting skills, then yes.

SEO/SEM is not just about link-building, but also about creating an effective seo-worthy web site and copy.

it would be a big advantage as SEO Specialist if you had a little or enough knowledge in all aspect that has related in a website such html, php, design, and etc.

Yes it is important to know technical terms...especially in on-page optimization...Your knowledge in HTML is an edge but learning far beyond what you have is much better...
