hidden menu that shows on the touch of a link?

I would of thought this would be simple. What I'm after is to have a link on a page and when clicked it shows a few links below it which then go to a new page.
But I can't figure out what that is called or how to do it without java scripts.

I think it's not a javascript, it's AJAX.

AJAX is not a new programming language, but a technique for creating better, faster, and more interactive web applications.

With AJAX, your JavaScript can communicate directly with the server, using the JavaScript XMLHttpRequest object. With this object, your JavaScript can trade data with a web server, without reloading the page.

AJAX uses asynchronous data transfer (HTTP requests) between the browser and the web server, allowing web pages to request small bits of information from the server instead of whole pages.

The AJAX technique makes Internet applications smaller, faster and more user-friendly.

Emm, yeah ajax is good for speeding up your website as it only sends the function you request to ther server and not the whole page but by the sounds of it you want a drop down menu.

Best bet search google, lots of sites out there giving tutorials on how to do what you want.

ex Dynamic Drive- DHTML & JavaScript Menu And Navigation scripts
