How long it takes to develop a web application on PHP?
I just want to know that how long does it take to set up a web application on PHP like almost all facebook apps are developed on PHP and what kind of servers are required. facebookster.com/blog

If you want to develop similar portal as facebook, it will take you at least 6 months up to 1 year with a group of php-developers, then it will take another 2-3 months to test it.
PHP works great with Apache and LightHttpd servers under linux platforms. If you want to build a real-time communication social network, you might want to try "Adobe Flex" and "Adobe Air" products, but then you'll need another type of scripting/server architecture - usually Actionscript+Java+Linux.
