Well there are heaps of services you can use, I prefer 50webs at http://www.50webs.com/ and on top of that instead of having a "Sub Domain" just have a .co.nr Domain Name (freedomain.co.nr) The ony REAL problem is with this Domain Name is you have to have link back to them. Easy though to do - Just have a link "Free Domain Provided By Freedomain.co.nr!" At-Least it is still advertisment for Freedomain and they dont mind - Honest! I like to stay away for ads Full Stop so i dont use .co.tk Domain Names as they are Kinda Crap! Well- Hope that helps!

co.nr

I have tried the co.nr, although it is good for directing users to your website, I do not think it helps you with promoting your website in the search engines, as links don't go to your real url, but to a page that is only redirecting, so actually no matter what you do, you will only have 1 real backlink to your website.

anyways, I can recommend atspace.com for your free hosting purposes, they have no ads, but also no costumer support so be sure you keep your username and password written and you know what you're doing.

There is no good free-host. The most I have seen is a free-webhost with Cpanel and space went down 5 months after it started.

Stay away from the free stuff.

depends

It's always depends what are your needs.
the main benefit in a free host, besides the obvious one of not paying, is that you don't have to worry about re-newing it each year thus creating a website with a good history - which is always good according to googles results.

It's true that if you need a costumer support or have too many needs for your site, free host is not always the way to go, but it is defenetly an option.
just check first for reviews on it and pay attention to when they were written, as better free hosts exists longer and make their profit when a user wants to upgrade the services they offer.

Most hosts make profits by putting ads on their sites. If you want a free-host make sure you know where they are getting their money. I am pretty sure no idiot would want to pay $200 for a dedicated server per month and give out only free-hosting.

yep

as I've said, its either:
Ads - in popups / adsense (or similiar) / a promotional line
or Upgrade - you are given with the minimal hosting package and after you've built up a good site and want to do something you're current hosting plan does not allow or you need a costumer support or a pop3 email with smtp - then you have to pay.

The 2nd choice is the better one for most cases, but it is hard to find.
