I need help re-indexing my Google Desktop to include my old email. I have successfully reindexed all the files on my harddrive, but it is not indexing my old email. As you probably know, Outlook search sucks and I rely on GDS to search my email many times a day.
I have used the TweakGDS product to reindex. From all the documentation, I don't read anything about reindexing email.
My GDS Index Status only shows email since I deleted the index file. It has successfully reindexed all the files on my harddrive.
Is there a way in GDS or some other utility that will cause GDS to index my old email? I'm using Outlook 2003 connected to Exchange 2003 in cached Exchange mode. All the email is in the Inbox or regular folders. Nothing is archived or in public Exchange folders.
I have reindexed the system a few days ago and the computer has had long periods (12 hours+) to start indexing. This makes me believe that the problem is not that the computer has been idle for long enough. It has not indexed even one email from before I deleted the index. It is successfully indexing all of my email since that event.
I also have a POP and Gmail account that I read in Outlook. It is not indexing that email either.
Your help is appreciated.
