hi,
I am using an old hard drive as a slave. I have managed to gain control as an 'administrator' to get at my saved files. I need 'special permissions' to get at my 'outlook' backup and addressbook. How do I get these 'special permissions'?

Thanks in advance

Peter

Maybe this helps?

http://www.updatexp.com/backup-microsoft-outlook.html

You may have to restore a .pst file from a removable media, such as
a floppy disk drive, a portable drive device, a CD-ROM, a magnetic
tape drive, or any other storage media. To do so, copy the backup
copy of the file that you just created from the storage media back
to the computer hard disk drive.

When you do this, make sure that the Read-Only attribute is cleared.
If this attribute is selected, you may receive the following error

You might be better to try and access it from another OS, because Windows has probably assigned the hard drive to the original user, which will have changed if it's a different computer.
