ok scrub that ~ must be a glitch in the toolbar (or a good sign for the 28th ish) went down to PR 2 and now gone back down to zero

Same thing happened to me this week - my homepage went from PR4 to PR5 - I was really pleased - but now it's back to PR4. Sad

They sometimes fluctuate. They fluctuate even more commonly when there is a PR update going on.

If i'm true, the Page Rank updation process varies according to the geographical locations. Thus one can experience slight fluctations in it.
