One thing that I have to find quite annoying & disrespectable about the internet from search engines, such as google for example, is the ignorance towards people's privacy & general information or articles etc.. written about them on the internet.
For example, their was a problem I came across recently & for months (almost a year) I've been fighting & battling to get this certain article/information about myself out of the google search results and off of the internet.
Now, I contacted google about this so many times, it's unbelievable and all they say is "The site owenrs have to do it sorry", they will NOT help you & even more so they don't seem to care either.
I mean, certain situations can arise, i guess in more extreme cases where this can effectively effect a person mentally, physically or career wise too, it could destroy a person & all google still will say is "Not our problem, sorry"
If the original site owners also won't remove this, then what happens, are you left with information online or articles or whatever online that you have to deal with & suffer with that again, could cause a person a lot of trouble emotionally & mentally, it can really destroy a person.
It's kind of like how bullying or people spreading rumours about a person at school, or even the internet (I heard a story similar to this about a myspace user who commited suicide because of it).
OK, someone might be rude and not remove something offline on your request, however I do think google should have some respect and appreciation that if a person requests a page removing from their index that has information about that person themself ... this SHOULD be taken into consideration & should be looked at.
It can, as silly as it sound, really effect some people to the extreme, their genuinly should be something taken into consideration, I know of another guy who had some pretty nasty spoof sites done on him of people taking the piss & they were coming up at the top of google's search results, which ruined this guys career.
I'm sure this is not the only case, but it did mentally put this guy through a lot of stress and pain to the point where he became physically ill.
What are people's views on this & do you think that google should take people requests & things like this into consideration rather than the ignorant and rude answers saying "The website designer has to do this, sorry" (In other words we don;t care & can't be bothered), in my eye's it's wrong.
