|
| Hi, I have noticed that Gmail automatically moves my most recent conversations from my inbox to the archive (All Mail) after a few hours. This is a pain as I would rather they remained in my inbox. I have to move them back again. Should this be happening, and is there anything I can do about it? Many thanks. |

This shouldn't be happening. Its a unique case, and I've never heard of anything quite like this.
I can't suggest anything, but why don't you try contacting Google about this?
Also, you could try deleting your cookies and cache. Though I don't think anything would happen, its worth trying. _________________

| I've now worked out why it's doing this. I normally access my Gmail account through the web, but I also have it set up as a POP account on my mail client. So I'm sending and receiving messages as normal through the web, then I fire up my mail client and copies of those messages appear in my mail client's inbox as well. This I think removes them from the server (?). Next time I open my Gmail account through the web interface, the messages have shifted from Inbox to All Mail. I'm still not sure why this is happening, but at least I can now see that there is some kind of logic behind it. I guess the solution would be to take the Gmail account off of my mail client. Any other suggestions/observations? Many thanks. |

You can change this on the settings page of Gmail.
Under "POP Download", select: "Keep Gmail's copy in the Inbox", instead of de default option: "Archive Gmail's copy". |
