I am submitting a .txt file in Google sitemap. Is this ok or it has to be in XML?

I believe it has to be an xml file.
There are many programs these days that automate this process.
search for google sitemap generator in google and enjoy.

I think sitemap to be submitted in goggle sitemap's must be in xml format only.....................
And I use :: http://www.neuroticweb.com/recursos/sitemap/ this can be helpful to u to..........

The Google Sitemap Generator now also supports sitemaps in ROR format. ROR Sitemaps is an independent XML format for describing any object of your content in a generic fashion, so any search engine can better understand that content.

www.xml-sitemaps.com is a pretty good tool for making sitemaps.
