| One minute gmail worked fine, the next it was gone. I use firefox, do not have adblock installed and have cleared the cache and cookies. I see gmail say it is transferring data from chatenabled.mail.google.com and the I get a blank page. Any ideas? |

| Well, if it comes down to using Gmail or Firefox and the few extensions I have ALWAYS used, I will give up Gmail. I uninstalled Firefox and got rid of my profile, re-installed the same configuration I had a week ago that worked then, and tried it. Gmail come up blank. This is a change made in just the last week and I am sick of Google changing thing unannounced and breaking stuff. There are other free email programs and I am off to my new one. |

Hmm, too bad you're having such a lot of problems with it. Did you try another browser as well?
And.. Don't forget: Gmail is still in beta.. It's not really weird that beta projects change or break down every now and then.. That's why it's still in beta. |

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I tried another browser, Internet Explorer. And it worked. However, I use firefox and up to a few days ago, firefox worked fine. Obviously Google did something to the Gmail site. Gmail has been a problem for a long time and this gives me a chance to move on. In the last few days I have discovered a world of non-google services and I like them. Maybe Google felt they had too many eyeballs and wanted some moved around. Works for me.
Oh, and the perpetual beta thing isn't even cute anymore. I think anybody who can't get a site or program out of "beta" in a year should probably stop coding.

Weird, I have always used GMail with Firefox on different machines, with and without extensions. Works fine. Wonder why you're having problems? _________________

Yeah, I wonder, too. I'm not the only one having the problem either. However, I solved it by not using the site and just having everything sent to the email program on my machine. The only loss is to Google; they don't get my eyes on their site anymore.
