Since this is a Google forum, shouldn't there be a google talk address field in your user profile?

Ok nice idea people, it would just about fit on the memberlist!

But this would require some html and php coding and that could take a while, especially since we are both at college now and I myself have my own Web Based Intranet Project to get on with however all is not lost because I will certainly look into it, like that you cat say I didn’t even try!

I have found a hack that can do this, however, is there a way to link to a Google Talk address? mailto: is not a good way

I've been doing some searching but couldn’t find anyway to link to a Google Talk address.

How about it just takes you to the profile, like with people's MSN addresses etc.

But does the Skype protocol work with Google Talk? No, and as far as I can see there isn't a way to launch Google Talk via a button within the browser.
Really, it's a very simple little thing to do and doesn't require finding a hack or modifying a current one. Just add a column to the database and create a new row on the profile and in the topics.
