| yes yes i know it is old news but there is nothign on the forums about it but i have been a fan of tech tv for years now and i hope many of you are also but when the two companies merged most of the tech went out of tech tv there are many people who dislkie the new tv channel what do all of you think |

G4 SUCKS!!
TECHTV IS THE BEST!!!...
Personally, i dont get those shows like Arena.. they;re pointless, TechTV, a channel that encourages people to learn more of technology, and opens up a door to a whole tech world.. while G4 gives you these pointless Game shows, even gamers like me HATE.. they WASTE time!!! |

I welcomed the news at first because I figured they would keep an equal share of TechTV stuff on during the day but they hardly do that. They NEVER show some of TechTV's newer shows such as Invent This! (which I enjoy a lot) and they don't seem to have any interest in keeping Fresh Gear around.
I don't like most of G4's shows. Arena and some of the others I do enjoy but there are some that just irritate me beyond belief, most noteably that RPG show with that guy in his little command center.
Finally, they basically killed all TechTV employees. I know this happens in a merger but companies usually KEEP the good people and not run them off the show. I'm going to be interested to see who is actually going to be running The Screen Savers now if almost half of the staff is gone.
My last gripe deals with how G4TechTV is carried on my cable provider. I don't know if it is G4's ability to tell the cable company if it should be on digital cable or if it's my cable company's choice, but it's bothering me. When the merger first happened you could watch G4TechTV on both the digial cable G4 station and on the normal cable TechTV station. Now Time Warner (in my area) put BET in TechTV's old spot. I can still watch G4TechTV but now I have to use my parents TV which I almost never have any chance to use.
Overall, this was the worst managing of a merger I have ever seen. When you merge/take over a company you want to keep the good parts of the company and then transfer all of their customers' loyalty to the new brand. Honestly, I think the merger has almost hurt G4 more than it has helped it because of all the angry TechTV viewers who can't see their old shows.

| the first time i heard about the merger i was happy i thought techtv with more gaming that would be a good idea but when i saw the new programe line up i almost sh** myself they only left a few of the shows that i used to watch the worst think they got rid of was the screen savers but the i heard that they are going to start new epsoids of the show and one other thing the website is so hard to find anything on and none of the origanal content is there anymore |

merger sucks. ttv was better on its own. i know they were struggling but damn, i would have donated if they asked  |
