no offence but i gotta say that the user interface isnt the best ive seen. any chance of an improvement? to me ill rather use msn then gmail because the GUI is more simplier to use.

i.e. it took me a few min just to find out how to delete an email. i know i should have checked the drop down first

you'll get use to it. it's like switching phones, you are use to the old interface so you get confused and tasks become slow, but you'll soon master it.

MSN? I guess that isn't like Hotmail, because Hotmail really stinks -- lots of ads and the interface is nothing amazing.

I actually like the dropdown menus more than other methods.

After all, Gmail is still in beta. User interfaces are something that broad usage will help to improve. If you have specific suggestions, I'm sure Google would appreciate hearing them.

Personally, I'm alright with the interface. I agree that it may seem confusing at first. The conversation feature seemed confusing to me at first, but I got used to it quickly.
I think it's pretty nice, clean, and simple. Just like the search engine interface.
I especially like the facts that a) there are no ads built in, and b) there is a google search engine built in.

i find that the gmail is more user friendly. as indicated earlier in these posts, it is getting used to it. gmail has innovations and easy to use than other popular mails. are you aware that your contacts are added automatically whenever you reply them?

It's always the same: new things give you problems to get used to them. But in this case, after a few days, you'll see Gmail interface as a very practical one.

Hotmail's ads does suck, and the low MB ur getting from it. But don't be that hard on Gmail yet it in his beta stage, and I'm sure if Gmail fully completes there will be lot's of styles that u can choose from or even there will be a site called Gmail templates Surprised or make your own template.

Just have patience till Gmail fully completes and comes out his beta stage.

I have no problem with Gmail's interface. It took me a few hours to understand how everything worked but then I started liking the pure simplicity. Hotmail is way too slow because everything is images and javascript and creates long waiting times.

the only thing i like about google GUI is that it is fast. ads are fine to me only if they popup or cover the whole screen. i hardly ever notice their there. unless its a special promo. also its like google's expecting everyone to store all its mail. some are confidential tnat need to be delete once seen. it wouldnt hurt by adding a few buttons named delete etc

i wouldnt be expecing my niece or gran to be using it. why use labels when you can have folders aint it easier? cant you make images popup automatically in setup ? its so annoying if you hav to press it all the time, it lyk closing an popup ad. i think starred is extra

You say why labels?
OK, and then I say, why folders?

lables are nothing but folders with an added advantage that you can assign multiple lables to a message for easy reference, which may not be possible in the folder system. Smile

I recently "won" a gmail invitation, and I must say it's pretty better then the old sucky hotmail template. Also alot faster and maybe in the future it will be better then ever, so u can have full advantage of your email Smile

Gmail has a much better interface than Hotmail. No flashy adds and it is much faster to load compared to hotmail which takes ages even on broadband.
