Hello... well here goes.

One of my sites is a community / reunion site for a group of people who all worked for the same company around the world and I would like to reinforce the community feel by adding a member map to the site…

BUT I would like to configure it that it would only go to a certain level of detail, i.e. by town or area as opposed to street level. (The reason I want this is that I Have found out to my cost about privacy issues)

So question 1:

Does anyone know of a good guest map app that I can use and or adapt?

Question 2:

Can these restrictions be put in place?

Question 3:

Is there  a way of getting the geo location from the town name, and plotting that?

Sorry if this an everyday basic question but, hey this is only my 3rd post here…
