Unable to tell the masses
Sworn my life to secrecy
Once a joyful boy in school at play
Now man kind grovels at my feet begging for mercy
It may have been the training
It may have been the order
Whatever it was consumes my thoughts
Causes my pain and is making my life shorter
"Go back to civilian life"
Is what my next order will be
But they don't know what we've been through
Don't do what I do or know what I still see
To close my eyes is like a task these days
The number of deaths by hands unknown
Silence is like a horror film
The screams and putting faces to all that were shown
I hope one day I'll subside the dreams
I pray one day I'll return to life
I'd better for the sake of my psyche
Let alone for the sake of my wife
Considered to be the most lethal of weapons
A marines hands are like the grim reapers breath
Our strategic mindset of combat and war
The very sight of us delivers sorrow and death
Unsure of why this is the way
That we have to break ourselves free
I hear people complain about life to much
They think that all this comes natural to me
Well when I break out of their style of life
Their conflicted minds of pain
It will be my life I must return to
Once again refered to by my name
