I've read the six books of the Lord of the Rings trilogy as well. J. R. R. Tolkien was really a master at his work. And yes, you can only go through the whole book if you're genuinely interested in it. If you fall asleep halfway through, you'll never be able to read the other half ( ).
I've got three other books by J. R. R. Tolkien - The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, and Unfinished Tales. I've read the Hobbit, and half of the Silmarillion as well, but I can't get myself to read the other half and Unfinished Tales. I guess I'm just not interested in them ( ). In what ways is The Silmarillion better than the Lord of the Rings, Random? _________________

2IamTheKing9 It is hard to explain,The Silmarillion book made as a legend, when i read it I fill that those places are very close to me but still so far. For me what is written in Silmarillion is more important, than in TLoR.
Why? because I can imagine what was not shown, to say what was not said...
And this is important for me: to create by yourself, to feel that part of this story is belongs to you... _________________

I read them sooo long time ago that I don't really remember the details. But I still know that the first was my favourite, and that I enjoyed them. _________________ Lotesse

I've never ever seen a better book than LOTR. GREEAT! And about the guy who dropped it outta the window: I'm sorry for you, mate. I had never have soul dropping a book away or giving it away as a gift. I somehow treat books as very important things. I don't think a book is something like you can go and buy a new. You had adventures with it. When my hard drive sucked up, I brought it to school and we played with it during the breaks - we wanted to destroy it, and we succeed. But I'd never do something alike with a book. Books have souls. _________________ "Circles have no end!"

I've got practically everything that the Good Professor has written. I have LOtR, The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, the Unfinished Tales, the entire History of Middle Earth series, and many of his lesser-known books, including a really cute children's book called Roverandom. I'm such a Tolkien/LOtR freak that I have written poems and fan fiction based on some of the characters. I've also begun writing a scholarly paper on Gandalf. The LOtR movies were ok, but I like the books much better. Oddly enough, I don't really get into Fantasy beyond Tolkien stuff. I'm more of a science fiction fan a la Isaac Asimov. _________________ Help Make The World A Better Place For All!

I have read it quite a few times. What I love the most about these books is that everytime i read them i view the world differently. My mental pictures are ever evolving. Does this happen to anyone else? Also, listening to the audio version is nice because you can hear all the songs being performed. _________________ Check out www.FashionByMalissa.com
