Pakistan (43.47) gained almost four points in the Rediff Test Rankings after their impressive 2-0 home victory against England. England (54.62) lost nearly three points, and must ask serious questions about its 'away' record (that got a little worse with its number of 'away' series wins dwindling to two).

Australia (81.06) thrashed West Indies (21.4 Cool

3-0 to climb past 80.

India (49.75) edged past South Africa (49.72) to become the third best Test team. India could further consolidate its position with home wins against Sri Lanka and England. But South Africa could bounce right back even with a drawn game against Australia in Australia. So places 2 to 4 will be hotly contested in the next few months.

With Pakistan firmly anchored at the fifth place, the bottom half is really a tussle between New Zealand (36.04) and Sri Lanka (35.55) for the sixth place.

The current ICC ratings (as on Dec 5, 2005) are: Australia (128), England (113), India (112), Pakistan (103), South Africa (100), New Zealand (100), Sri Lanka (99), West Indies (73) and Zimbabwe (27).

well that was after that series with srilanka and south africa where india played well, waiting for india to notch that first place

hello friends,

i feel india have the capability.

in fact to climb to the second spot

but they are not in good form right now.

thats the bad thing

the match against the west indies is going to become a tough one

the indians dont have much practice

but i hope they come back strongly.
